Topographic anatomy and operative surgery is a "single" discipline that includes two interrelated parts. Topographic anatomy studies the layer-by-layer structure of anatomical regions, the interposition (syntopy) of organs, their projection onto the skin (holotopy), relation to the skeleton (skeletotopy), blood supply, innervation and lymph drainage in conditions of norm and pathology, taking into account the age, sex and constitutional characteristics of the organism. Operative surgery studies instrumentation, surgical operations, methods of surgical interventions, as well as develops and implements operative approaches and surgical techniques in clinical surgery, taking into account preoperative preparation, technical performance of the operation itself and the characteristics of the postoperative period.
